Men You Love To Hate #BlackFamilySeries Collect Them All

First there was William…

I really didn’t think William was a person to hate when I was writing Stone’s Revenge. I more or less empathize with the pain and hardship he went through to make him the man he was in order to to bring him to life.

Then there was Jaelen…

I can’t tell you how many times I really hated Jaelen, originally appearing in stealing innocence, the sequel and other books as well, and he was just so selfish and mean to Kimberly. I remamber all the fan mail I got about him and how women were whipping mad.

Jaelen’s more misunderstood than he is mean… I think. Or maybe he is just mean.

A lot of people kept asking how could Evan be his friend, because Evan’s so nice.

He wasn’t nice all the time but he’s only really mean when you hurt him. Like he was in Love Like This with Nicole. He was trying to be mean.

When you read Love Like This and Hope Is Love, you get that there is a side of the family the “brothers” don’t like to speak about.

That’s when you Xavier Black, from The Mysterious Mr. Black and Axel Black, from The Revenge of Three.

Sides of the family that are closely related to The Heart Family (which is a whole ‘nother story.)

And yes, all of them are men you LOVE to HATE!

Get all four books for your eReader today and Love to Hate them for yourself!

If you’ve read them all, please go back to the place you’ve purchased them and leave a review. (Especially for the Mysterious Mr. Black and The Revenge of Three. Serious in need of them, please)

Getting Lost At The #LitWorld of @SylviaHubbard1 is a Good Thing! #amreading

My literary world is pretty big.

I’m speaking of my online website:

It’s been growing for a long while. Since 2009, when I decided to put everything here, it has gotten bigger and bigger.

Now if you’re new to the site and like it states on the front page, don’t know where to go, just go to the Welcome post.

After deciding what to do from there, I do suggest you try the Free Reads. A lot of people ask about the passwords to some of the free stories. I can’t give any out. The only way you can get them is if you read the paid stories.

I do have to make a living.

One reader complained that to one of the paid stories the password is in is only an eRead on Amazon. We’re talking about Secret, Lies & Family Ties. There is a paperback version that can be bought and if you would like the story that bad, you could see – and just see – if you can get the password off the FREE excerpt Amazon offers.

Just remember, the more books you buy, the more I can stay home and write. Honestly, you complain I don’t come out with a lot of stories, but I want to satisfy your craving to produce more. I can’t produce more if you’re bootlegging and looking for free books that you know you should pay for.

I try to keep all the prices of my books low. Matter of fact, you can get almost twenty to twenty-five of my books for less than forty dollars. I think that’s more than a deal.

BTW, don’t forget to check out new books that were added recently:

New Books Added Recently

Plus at Amazon, I’ve just added Babydoll for my Kindlers!

I love my readers though. Especially the ones that really support me and help me out when I need it. I love that you comment, pass the word, share and loan my books out – legally – and encourage others to pick up my books.

Of course there is a lot more to do – for the both of us. More reviews from you and more published works from me.

I hope to bring more stories to you. Along with the free stories I post and the live books I produce on the site, I still hope to get more short stories to weave around so more readers can get lost more.

Let’s make the last part of 2012 a great year for both of us. Give me more feedback of what you’d like and I’ll do my best to give more books to read.

Let’s push 2012 to the literary boundary for the both of us!  Leave comments below and don’t forget to share My Literary World with others with the tabs below to your social networks.

Author’s Note: I don’t know where I’m going to go with this story and your guess is as good as mine.

I just got up at five am and begin typing. I met the characters in my head and I think think think I have the plot twist, but that’s about it.

For right now, you’re about to start a journey with me but it’s foggy and dark. Two things that are very dangerous when driving and when writing.

but I hope you stay with me on this journey as I muck my way through everything. And please please please give me feedback on what I write. Don’t forget to invite friends.

So off we go!

I was going to give up … Dealing emotionally with Bad Reviews/Critiques #syllit @sylviahubbard1

You wither love it or hate it. That’s what I was originally going to name this post because that’s really the essential lesson I learned from writing the Mistaken Identity Series.

Mistaken Identity part 3 #livestory starts 2morrow. Camp

When Mistaken Identity was release, I really had to buckle down and put on a hard shell due to the responses I received from readers.

People have been on the extreme of each side about the book. They either love the story or they don’t. Due to the complex nature of the book and the relationship of the protagonists, I can’t really go into detail why you’ll either love or hate the book.

I heard so many times how much people love loved luved the first book, Mistaken Identity, but then it was the “others.” Those are the ones that despised it, couldn’t make it past chapter two (you know the closet scene) or sent me long letters of how they were disgusted that I would think any woman would want to be in THAT type of relationship.

A couple of them were so mean that I almost pulled the book and it’s semi-sequel, Secrets, Lies & Family Ties.

A reader wrote me and told me another author had “tried” to do the same thing. This was about three years after the book had been published and the reader said “no one can do a Sylvia Hubbard love story except you.” That was a compliment, but also a little reassuring.

I realized I was the type of person who you either loved or hated. The concepts I develop are basically the same  – and this includes love stories.

Before I go on, I’d like to say to all the readers who have wrote me notes asking me why did I do what I did in Mistaken Identity part deux, well, I can’t answer that right now because I want you to read the continuing saga in part three.

Now I’m not going to say, I’m the bomb dot com. There are some horrible stories I’ve come up with and I wonder hey, why’d I publish that. It ended too fast or I needed to develop something, but dangit, the majority of the reason why I publish is because I had a great book, a great idea and I enjoyed myself immensely as I wrote and just knew others would enjoy themselves as they read.

So I write really for myself and I have to tell me those scathing reviewers and other readers who told me they’d rather use my book to wipe their butt rather than read it (true quote from an email) can really say whatever they want to say because I’m not writing for them.

I’m writing for myself and there are other people who really like me and like what I write that just happen to support my literary endeavors.

For that I’m weirdly grateful, because I know I think really outside of the box and I’m glad I’m not alone in this world to venture into the unknown and say, what if…

I killed someone today… Getting rid of characters you know your readers love

Today I was writing the sequel to Love 1o1. Lots of readers want to know what happened…

So I decided to answer their question. A five thousand word story has end becoming a fifty thousand word story and I have myself to blame.a

Well, I really have Evan Crane to blame. I’m falling in love with him and jealous Ms.Cheyenne Roberts gets to have him. Yet, with any male character I create, he’s never easy to fall in love with.

So I’m writing and I decided to incorporate “clients” that my readers love. Now at the time I incorporate them I never thought I would end up killing them.

I mean I usually know who I’m gong to kill right off. I know a secondary character who’s not very important is going to die… kinda like in Star Trek and the nameless crewmen who go off ship with the captain.

This time, I started with the premise as the “clients’ serving as secondary people to help the main characters work out their flaws and get together, but I knew only something tragic would bring these stubborn people together.

So I killed a character that I know my readers would know and love.

HOW DO YOU KILL SOMEONE?  (or at least kill off fiction characters you’ve started to really care about)

Like I said it wasn’t planned – really, so I can’t go to Reader Prison for this. I don’t know if you would call it involuntary manslaughter, because when I first worked out the scene the character didn’t die and then I went to writing and… yeah, they had to die.

Killing someone is not just ending their life or putting a bullet in them and saying bamm you’re dead. No, this had to be something natural.

Of course I believe some writers go for the straight and easy kill. Getting access to a gun is easy in any story. Using a knife is the second easier. The third thing would be poison. Yeah, that’s so good sometimes. I love to brag how I have an encyclopedia on poison and I read it as much as I read the bible.

But the ultimate way a writer can kill a character is if you build up to a natural death. A death the reader didn’t expect to happen and it suddenly occurs just at the SHTF moment. (crap hits the fan moment)

I had to do my research because if they  were going to die naturally, I wanted to plan it out. Natural has to have a progression throughout the story and I had to make it evident to the reader, without really telling the reader.

I know that sounds confusing.

And the really sad thing about it was that when they were dying, I actually started to cry. I knew I would pay a cost and that my readers would hate me for this one, but I knew it had to happen.

Now my readers are probably screaming their heads off asking, WHO WAS IT?!

Yeah, you’re going to have to wait for that one…

Be on the look out for this one when I release the next installment to Love 101...

Love 102: Back To School.
… coming soon….

Haven’t read Love 101 yet?

The Mysterious Mr. Black Part 33.2

This was a great way to start the great Onyx book. I still have to get her on the road and of course, I know you all have questions abut Shadow. No you won’t see her on any family chart and the questons about who’s offspring she is is also a secret.

That is my secret I must keep until … until… okay, hint hint.. Sharlie… That’s all I’m saying.

Does anyone remember what book Shadow originally appeared in?

Answer in the comments.
