 Author’s Notes…

And who’s posting almost within a week of the prior chapter. Me, that’s who. I’m shocked no one figured out who was the dark woman in the picture, but that’s okay. Hate me later. And yes, I’m going to hurt Zuri eventually. She ain’t out of the woods yet.

Zuri and Magnum kept bothering me and other than gardening this week. The hubby is busy on projects and so forth and I’m getting settled for the changeover schedule at work. I had some time to get things done.

BTW, me and the hubby finally did a date night (a sort of weekender) and I was so stoked about that. We’d been in the house for three months, no doing anything together and not going anywhere. So this was big time.

This is also a pretty long chapter (over 3k word) and so get ready to sit back and enjoy the ride.  If you finish this too fast, you can always check out companion books.

Here’s my Grammarly Report for this chapter. Yes, there’s some passive statements and possibly long wordy sentences I choose to ignore instead of correcting. I’ll leave that up to the editor.

  1. Ummm okay chapter… Feels like it’s missing something (not sure exactly what). *snaps fingers 💡* I think I know what it is… it’s the multitude of charters and multiple lines/avenues of drama and possible plot twists that take away from the storyline. I’m starting to figure out that you bringing your old character into your new book, that your way of do things. But sometimes it seems like bringing in old characters is a way to fill pages or to force a story. Not everyone has read your previous works, so now it brings into question…are your standalone books really stand alone if I have to read your previous work to know what’s really missing. 🤐🤨🤔🤐🤨🤔🤐🤨🤔

    1. That’s the thrill. No character is made complete unless it’s their story. You get prices like a very long novel spanning decades. Loving it.

      1. To a certain degree.. it’s frustrating and hard to connect to a character in a book when you have 15 of them running around in one book.. Forever unending cliffhangers is a buzz kill to me… It’s like an author starting a series and never finishing it. For me personally if I read more than three books with the same scenario (different characters) or same M.O. from an author I just don’t read or support their work anymore. To me it’s like planting the same seed over and over an expecting the same tree to grow. It won’t grow. I like to see authors grow outside of their box.

  2. so i do understand the repetition of storylines. ughhh. trust me, it’s not good.
The characters that are coming into the story have MOSTLY only a connection in this STORY. i Swear. This story’s conflict and the HEA will not be a cliffhanger. That’s just frustrating in itself. Now there are worldly issues going on here, but that’s all the time in real life that’s going to steadily be a problem. He already had a baby momma problem, and his brother’s issues… ugh, that’s a sticky situation, but in all from Chapter 10 (midway), I haven’t really introduced a new person and mostly all plots are in there, just a little bit more complicated.

  3. 👀🤐*gasp* BABY MOMMA?! Did you just give away part of the storyline? Reminder I haven’t read the other seven companion books, so I don’t know all of Tyler’s, Lucas, Black Onyx or the others backstory.

    1. you won’t need to. xoxo, but… for all the other readers who have they’re understanding The Shadow. It’s fine. You don’t need to read the other story to enjoy this one.

  4. Your stories forever have twists all up in them. Finally Zuri has come to terms with how devious her mother is. I just pray she doesn’t meet up with her anywhere.

      1. Awww man! Cliffhanger queen! When willhe book be available???? Idk bout everyone else that has commented. But i love that you intertwine the story lines…thats what makes you different than other authors , your creativity! I love it dont stop doing you! Ive been a avid reader for like a decade now!
