January 2013 – even though it’s not over – has been one of the most difficult months in the year…

But you say the year just started…

Being positive then I must say, it can’t go anywhere but up! Right?

First I thought when my unemployment was cut off at the end of the December, I was doing badly. i was severely strugggling day by day to try to make sure the hills were paid and the kids didn’t feel the effects of what was going on.

Then came the real test to my stress…

The fire.

In less than fifteen minutes the house that held everything we owned disappeared in a blazed.

We lost almost everything in the fire. I say almost because we didn’t lose each other and that would have been terrible.

For myself, I had time to run in my bedroom and grab my purse, jacket and the important papers box. i had to put my clothes on outside of the house. it was a sight.

I’ve gone through the gambit of loss, but i’m coping.

So you ask, well, what about your literary life? Did you lose that?

All my books, awards, recognitions are gone.

My promotional material and even all my workshop materials are gone.

What about the WiP?

Well, I had my baby (the netbook) & kindle in my purse. i dropped my phone in the fire but I saved one flash drive. It didn’t have what I needed but it had some of the things that were important.

So what’s next for your literary world?

it’s called keep it moving.

I’m trying to get back into the swing of things. i’m not a person that just gives up.

i have decided to push back the date of Dark Facade. The edits i darkfacadeBook1-smallermade aren’t on the baby. i thought i was being smart and saving the final version on a flash which i left on the table where it was smoldered.

I know this fire is just another way to keep me from finishing this book. I will not be deterred! I will press on. But the book release will take place for Feb 1st.

    You just take your time. Your loyal fans will be here for you whenever you finish the book. Satan is just trying to test our Faith. But, we are here to let Him know that GOD is in your conor and you will not be moved. I hope all is well with your fam. We the fans will help in any way we(I) can. Just let us know how.     2. I so agree with Stephanie, your a fighter and I respect that. You don’t let life hold you down, and God will see you through this too. Your books have seen me throughout some dark days as well, and for that I say thank you. You are a blessing for many, so a loyal fan I will always be. Even if I always need a Heart family fix lol, we’ll wait cause we know it will be worth it. You and your family are still in my thoughts and prayers.

  4. OMG My heart, prayers & thoughts go out to you & your family. I wish there was something I could do. I am SO thankful & grateful to God that your lives were spared. All else can be replaced & rewritten. I am thankful that you are still with us. I would’ve been devastated if I received dreadful news. This year will end on an amazing note for you.   6. Dear Sylvia, my prayers and the prayers of my family ate with you. I cannot begin to know how you feel. And I will not try and tell you I do. God has a way of doing things for us in mysterious ways. Don’t stop counting you blessings because there are more to come. As for Dark Facade it can come Feb1st or March1st. True Sylvia fans will wait forever. You have so much material out there one can not possibly get board. So take time and do you. We will be waiting.

  8. Oh Sylvia, I hate that you’re going through so much right now. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I am not a person of many resources but if there is any thing I can do to help you, please let me know. I am also the mother of 3 beautiful children and just can’t imagine what you’re going through. There must be something big ahead for you. Things like this always happen before God grants you that long standing desire you’ve been waiting on and praying for. I feel like we are friends even though you know nothing about me and I only know what you post on your website. Take care 🙂

  12. I’m not going to say I’m sorry because I personally now when your are grieving the last thing you want to here is I’m sorry …but I will say this stay strong and keep your head up I’m praying for you and your family !!!!

I will inform my book club & see if donations can be made or even getting more people to purchase your books to increase your revenue. Also place the clothing & shoe sizes for you & your girls. I will try to help best I can. I am a mother of 2 young boys & I understand the Struggle. We must stick together. Something is better than nothing. Every bit helps.

    1. It doesn’t hurt to increase your prices by at least $1 for your books. They are worth it. Its a New Year, prices always go up. 🙂 Smile God is on your side. You Survived & you WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THIS!

  21. i just need to know when stealing innonce 3 is coming out! you said jan. 2013 and now it is Feb. 2013 and black history month is here. Sylvia i bought Dark Facade an of course i i loved it but, can’t wait to read about Lethal. SALOL!

    1. in order to finish Lethal king must be presented. im in discussion with two publishers currently plus the money it takes to get those books properly edited and a cover designed. its here. waiting but without funds i cant do it enough justice
