10 books that have stayed with me in some way… #amreading. Celebrating Nat’l Bookclub Month

I was tagged in September on Facebook to post about books that I’ve read that have stayed with me throughout my life.

Since it’s National Bookclub Month, I thought it’d be nice to post books I’ve enjoyed throughout my life.

I am a different type of reader. My mother was a stickler for history books and my father was a stickler for science so growing up in an African-American home deep in Detroit with a father who was a chemical scientist and a mother who was a social studies teacher kept our reading taste very different.

I decided to share a little of me on my literary world to show you why there’s a different taste to my writing than most people.

I’d love to see your list too.

Indigo by Beverly Jenkins
Desperation by Stephen King
Secret Fire by Johanna Lindsay
Pride and Prejudice by Jane austen
The Hobbit by JL Tolkein
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
Native Son by James Baldwin
I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou
Lucky by Jackie Collins
The flame and the flower by katherine woodiwiss

Honorable mention

Words don’t fit in my mouth by Jessica Care Moore
