Short Synopsis:

Being an entrepreneur was all she really wanted, but even Onnilissa’s mother felt a woman needed a job and to let the dreams of owning a business go by the wayside. Matter of fact, she had just lost a boyfriend due to her determination to become an entrepreneur.

To her surprise, the father she had never met left her with the majority stock to his company, which she realized she could cash in to acquire the money to start her business. In order to facilitate getting her hands on the money, Onnilissa must fly to Detroit, murder capital of the world and according to her mother where filthy men go to die.

Onnilissa noticed the dark handsome stranger from the time she got on the plane until the time she was trying to find a ride to get to her hotel.

“There are no rides,” he said standing next to his private car. “Not for several hours. I live here and I fly in late at night all the time. Would you like a ride?”

The offer was innocent and genuine. She hadn’t had that in a long time and by the time they arrived at her hotel, she was inviting him up. It was one night, with a stranger, right?

And that’s where her life starts to change.

More About book

Being an entrepreneur was all she really wanted, but even Onnilissa’s mother felt a woman needed a job and to let the dreams of owning a business go by the wayside. To her surprise, the father she had never met left her with the majority stock to his company, which she realized she could cash in to acquire the money to start her business. In order to acquire permission to sell, she must fly to Detroit and come to the funeral.

“Please do something I want to do,” her married best friend encouraged, who lived vicariously through her before she boarded the flight to Motown.

He was gone when she woke up late and had to rush to the funeral to look like she really cared. Yet, all she could think about was the wonderful night she had with the stranger and how she hoped she could find him and have another night.

At the funeral, she finally met her half brother and half-sister, their kids and even their mother. She, unfortunately, found out as well her father had left them nothing and loved her more than he loved his other children, who he had disregarded most of their lives.

Needing to get out of there, Impatiently, she asked about signing the papers for her money.

The lawyer tells her that all conditions will be met, but there was one more person who wanted to meet her who was running late.

To her surprise, the tall dark stranger arrived in the room and she found herself still entranced by him until she found out… this was her uncle.

Her desperate need to get away preceded her need to sign the documents for the money. She swore to never come to Detroit again.

And that’s where her life starts to change.

Author’s Note: 3/4/2019

Over 50K words. I’ve finally finished Daddy’s Girl.

This was the first book in a long time that I wrote that didn’t include a live reading like the last books I’ve been doing for the past six years.

The idea originated from a post from EyeCU Reading Bookclub. from November 16th of 2018. They have an author freestyle every Friday authors participate. Thank you kindly, ladies, for the literary push in the right direction. I really needed this.

It was different from being a solitary writer again, but I needed to do this in order to get my life together. My writing life and my personal life.

Yet, I’m holding on to this story for a publisher or until May when I will pitch this at the May event I’m going to sit down with an agent.

If it’s not picked up then, I will publish it myself.

For now, this is the official post on this book.

If you’d like updates for just this post, please make a comment and subscribe to updates. I’ll try to make them as they come in.

Companion books:

  1. also , i just added companion books related to this book
    Companion books:

Road To Freedom – Jared Parker
Never Let Her Go – Regina Bixby
    Red Heart – Red Heart
    Ravenous – Chon Tolbert
Sin’s Iniquity – Sinclaire Bowman (2nd lawyer) & Chance Jefferson
The Other Side of Love – Armando & Faith Bellini

  2. Book 1 is wonderful. passion, fear anxiety and the thrill of getting caught. All in one character. Cannot wait for book 2

  3. Love the story but book 1 stopped at chapter 7 but book 2 started at chapter 17 I’m missing 10 chapters that I feel are crucial to the sorry

  4. Amazing, Well Done, Very Good Job. As always I am mesmorized by the Story Line and plot twist, to the very last drop. Your books need to become a BET special to say the least
