About the story
The current first line in the book: “Excuse me, miss, would you marry me?” he said in a very direct yet demanding voice, as if he were trying to politely ask her to get him coffee.
A woman who was dumped by her boyfriend decides to go down to the riverwalk to kill herself in the freezing Detroit River
A man tells his girlfriend to meet him there to propose, and he has his family meeting him there, but they don’t show up, and he needs someone in her place right away…
He decides to interrupt the woman’s suicide to ask for help.
