If you want to know the benefits of live story blogging, here they are:
1. You get feedback about who hates what character and why. That’s gotta be helpful when deciding to do spin-off books.
2. You get a glimpse into which storylines are going to be the most popular. Are more people pheening for interracial stories? May/December romances? Knowing the answers to those questions had help with decision-making about new books. (Remember how one of your (tall?) readers pleasantly complained about your heroines always being so short? lol. I loved that honestly. It definitely made me add a few inches and even some extra pounds to my own heroines to better represent real people.)
3. Finally, you get to see how your readers interact with one another. This gives you clues as to which of your other books they might like and just haven’t read yet.The rules are the same for the live stories.
Rules are the same:
- No cornering the author in public and asking what’s going to happen next
- No threats to fly to the author’s city, find her, and tie her to the computer to make her finish and post faster.
- DO TELL others about the book. The more readers, the more posts you get a week.
- DO Leave thoughts, remarks, opinions, screams, and whatever in the comments of each post. It’s very much encouraged – even if you don’t like what’s happening.
- HAVING FUN is encouraged. You’re getting to read over the shoulder of an author as she writes. Ask your technical questions as well, and sit back and enjoy the book as she pours her soul onto a screen for you.
