Chapter 5.2

“Are you okay?” he asked coming in the room from the door with the light. The door was opened all the way and more light flooded into the room. He had on the same dress pants he’d worn earlier and a black wife beater.

Damn! Who gave him permission to put on clothes?! Her thoughts charged as he helped her up. And how the hell did he put on clothes that fast?

“My legs were still asleep,” she said with another giggle, but then remembered the treacherous underhanded tactic he had done to her in her weakened sexual stage.

“Would you like me to carry you to the bathroom, Ms. Holland?”

She moved away from him feeling even more upset with herself. “If you devour me anymore today, Mr. Todd, I don’t think I’ll be walking straight for a week, plus I have a bone to pick with you.”

He frowned confused as if he didn’t know what she was talking about. “What bone would that be?”

“Oh, don’t play innocent with me! You know what you did! We’re both in the health care field and we both have seen the affects of what unprotected sex can do.” She hit his chest angrily, but he didn’t even flinch as pain shot from her wrist to her elbow.

“Are you okay?” he asked concerned about her hand and reaching to inspect it.

She stepped away from him cupping her arm against her. “Don’t touch me.” With the door opened she noticed he had the clothes on he had been wearing when she had first met him, but before he had other clothes on.

Why was he changing so much?

“I’m sorry,” he said honestly. “I don’t know what came over me.”

“We both know better.”

“I know,” he agreed. “I really am sorry about everything and I shouldn’t have lost control.”

Mad at herself than him, she really just needed a moment alone to get her thoughts together. “Where’s the bathroom?” she asked suddenly realizing she was very naked in front of him.

He nodded to the door he had went out of previous. What the hell was going on? Why were there so many doors in his room?

“My clothes.”

He went over a chair the furthest away from the bed and picked up her uniform and crocs from a chair.

Grabbing them from him, she went to the bathroom and went to bathroom. Slamming and locking the door behind her, she turned on the sink to let the sound of the running water shield her movements from him.

Leaning over the sink, she closed her eyes to gather her thoughts. What the hell was wrong with her? Why was she acting like a promiscuous whore with no thought of her health and safety?

He was healthy enough to eat off of, her conscious tried to help her feel better.

Elena slammed her fist on the counter and then winced as she hurt her hand again. Turning off the sink and turning on the shower, she jumped in to scrub herself down. This kept her mind busy until she got out, dried off and stuffed her body in clothes.

Opening the door, she gasped in shock seeing he was still standing there, but now was fully dressed in his suit he had worn when they had come to the house.

He was holding her purse looking devilishly handsome all over again as if waiting for round four.

Did he have stamina like a bull?

“You’re right,” he said as she took her purse. “If I hurt you, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I don’t ever want to hurt you. You’re right, I should apologize profusely. I really am sorry for doing what I did. I don’t know what came over me… no that’s a lie. I do know.”

She didn’t move as she waited for his explanation with her arms folded over her chest and glaring up at him.

“You,” Pholsom said simply. “I didn’t expect something so amazing to happen today and I needed more of you. I’ve never wanted to feel exquisiteness before and never knew I could until… now, with you. Yes, it was the most foolish and unsafe thing to do, but I swear on everything holy I won’t do it again.”

“You damn right you won’t do it again.” She stormed out of the room and could smell breakfast cooking.

How the hell had he also started cooking? Was someone else here?

“Wait,” he implored coming in front of her when she started for the stairs he had carried her up. At least her sense of direction was on point. These looked like back stairs and hopefully they led to the garage which would lead out to the driveway. “Would this affect your decision about the position?”

Was he crazy? Was he still interested in her actually working for him? Of course he was.

Let me think about it. Like I said I’ll call you tomorrow.” She was not going to make a decision when her personal judgment was severely clouded.

Bashfully, he said, “You said that yesterday.”

Growling under her breath in frustration before she said, “I really do need to get away from you before I scream. I can’t even breathe correctly much less make a career move around you right now.”

He conceded and moved out of her way, but followed her down the stairs and even led her over to the garage door. “Thank you, Ms. Holland.”

A little shocked over his humility about this whole thing, she calmed down a bit and turned to him before going out of the garage door. “I’m not all the way mad at you, Mr. Todd.” She decided to return to formalities just like he had. “It takes two to tangle and I am just as upset with myself.”

“So you do regret it?”

Elena answered him honestly. “Actually no, I don’t.”

He smiled that gorgeous smile, but then when he saw her disapproving glare he made it disappear.

Damn how she wanted to drag him back up in that bedroom! What the hell was wrong with her?!

Outstretching her hand, she said, “I promise to call you tomorrow morning,” she said.

He looked as if he wanted more than just her hand, but he reluctantly shook it. “I could walk you out to your car.”

“NO!” she said abruptly, knowing they’d never make it to her car. “I’m fine. Please don’t.”

Now it was his turn to look disapprovingly. “I’ll let you this time, but…” He yanked her to him and brushed his lips over hers. “Good morning, Elena.”

Shit! Shit! Shit!
