I asked this question on my facebook a couple of weeks ago and got great responses from friends. Wow! It’s just amazing how you can be with a person, but really don’t know what’s really happened to that person.

One of the worse things I found out about someone I dated was that he fought a lot with his brother. Yea, fought a lot, as in break’g their mother’s dining room furniture over each others BACK, this was enough information for me, I said to myself, self, take stock. Because if these brothers are still fighting in their mid 20s,and have not resolved whatever issues they have with each other, how will my boyfriend react if he and I have and argument?
I came from a family that fighting was never encourage. You could argue, no cursing, but argue was ok. Fighting was never acceptable behavior in any situation. I couldn’t pass on those genes. So boyfriend had to go!

Unfortunately i didn’t find out until after I was in the midst of marriage therapy that my ex thought arguing between two people was the norm in all marriages since his parents always did. I was stressed and I didn’t want my children to think that name calling was fine for adults to do since I hadn’t been raised like that but he felt it was alright.
