I know I’m supposed to mention that I’m getting ready to introduce you to Alejandro Bellini. The big one. In the Bellini timeline, this would be before Armando comes up missing. Actually, the day before, Alejandro may mention their new vacation package and entice El to think about doing it.
I know right here I needed to add more but I didn’t want to get into details about what Aunt Rose revealed.
She’s such a smart lady even though she keeps herself in the house.
And yes, this is a really short chapter, but only because there a lot to come.
It’s pouring out of me and I hope you endure with me as we go through the ups and downs. Like I said, I’m starting to close this story up so if there is any storylines I’m missing, please speak up.
Thank you, your author, Sylvia Hubbard

His eyes perused down to her stomach, and El almost let a wicked smile curl on his lips but stopped himself. “What do you think?” he asked, only to distract himself from the plan he had in mind for Iris.
Her pretty brown eyes narrowed at him, and El was sure she had caught on to his distracting question. She shrugged a pretty soft shoulder, crossing her arms over her chest to secure only the sheet she had wrapped about her body. “I don’t know if you should. It’s all suspicious, even though I don’t know his whole story. He’s a very dangerous man.”
“He is, but Blaque is getting worse.”
“You think she’s really out to kill her entire family?”
El frowned. “How did you know that?”
“The detective explained things to me about her. She’s on a mission to finish the patricide her father started. With her being off-leashed and not even King being able to control her anymore, can no one stop her?”
“Not unless King and Lethal put aside their differences and plan together. It’s how they were able to take out King’s father.”
She shivered. “King helped Lethal kill his father?”
El immediately used that opportunity to pull her into his arms and hold her. “Kill or be killed, Iris. Unfortunately, there are families out there worse than yours.”
She determined, “King needs his interests and assets taken care of before meeting with his cousin, which is why he’s asking this of you. At least if Lethal kills him, everything will be all set for his business to continue.” Her deep frown bothered him.
“What are you thinking, Iris?”
“He cares about something more than himself, and that’s odd for him. He’s doing all this for something bigger than greed or evilness.”
El had never thought that far into King’s motives, but his Iris was already putting together a portfolio on the man in her head. Damn, he loved everything about this woman!
He kissed her forehead and said, “Let’s get you back to bed. We can talk later. The night is still young.”
And he wanted to make love to her one more time before the sun came up. He needed to.
Ravishing her mouth, loving how she succumbed to his touch, molding her body into him like she was meant to be there in his arms
Iris pushed away slightly, breathless yet worried. “What if King comes back?”
“He can’t join in,” El teased and carried her into the bedroom, ensuring the door was locked before setting her on the bed and putting his gun on the side table. “He can wait until I’m done eating the fuck out of you.”
Her little distraction wasn’t going to stop him.
El would make sure she cried out in joy, worshipping his name to the heavens before he joined himself to her, solidifying she would be in his life forever.
One more time before sunrise.
One more time.

Waking up to El’s deep breathing was absolutely mind-boggling to her, but it was so peaceful. After being enthralled by his lovemaking for a couple of more hours, he ordered them something light to eat, catching her up on his meeting with the Bellini meeting. He seemed confident, but Iris knew from all his holdings it wouldn’t be enough.
She got into more detail about everything that had happened to her, including meeting up with her cousin, Essence, in the hospital, which was an odd coincidence even to him.
Now he slept, but it was a restless sleep. Iris knew that by morning, he would be walking into a meeting with no way to prove to the Bellinis that he could deliver something better than Russell Wexford could, especially since the businessman had the help of Councilman Ernest Washington.
Iris listened to him sleep for the longest time until her bladder screamed for release. Only then did she untwine her body from his to leave the bedroom and go into the general bathroom. She didn’t want to use the bathroom in the bedroom because she wanted him to stay asleep as long as possible. It was four hours before the meeting with Alejandro Bellini.
As she cleaned up, she felt sore but relegated that to her newfound ability to take El to the hilt. The thought tingled, but she wouldn’t wake him for another round. Instead, she laid out her clothes, freshening them up until she could find more clothes while he went to his meeting.
Getting her laptop from her messenger bag, she tucked herself on the couch and looked for messages from Aunt Rose.
My Neice, you’ll be happy to know we have figured out the dilemma.
Aunt Rose explained the solution to El’s problem, which they had discussed in the vehicle. Iris was shocked that the older woman could figure things out like that.
Knowing she shouldn’t call her aunt from the hotel, she logged into the VPN on her laptop and used a cloud call function to reach her aunt’s phone.
“I knew you would call, but not this early,” her aunt said as she answered the phone.
“How’s Clem?”
“He’s perfect as usual, but he’s asleep. I found your old books, and he’s certainly becoming a fantasy-addicted reader.”
Iris smiled fondly, loving how her nephew was like her at his age. “Are you sure about everything in that email, Aunt Rose?”
“I’m nine-two percent positive, but this is all based on what you surmise could happen.”
“We haven’t gone into the details, but after what he told him, I could help him. I won’t know for sure until he returns from the meeting.”
“But if he goes into that meeting without you, he won’t have anything for leverage. You need to go with him, Iris.”
“How am I going to convince him I need to go, Aunt Rose? The man is used to doing things by himself.”
“You figure that part out, and then let me know.”
They spoke of what Clem’s day would consist of, and Iris promised to video chat with him in the afternoon.
“I know that Sharlie Costello lady,” Aunt Rose said distastefully. “She has a vendetta against rich bachelors. No one knows why, and no one really cares.”
“You know about her?”
“I read the article. And after speaking with you and what I know of your boss, it just shows she loves twisting the truth to get what she wants.”
Confused, Iris admitted, “I don’t know what she wants. And I really don’t want to tax El deep diving into his personal issues when he has so much going on in his business life.”
“I suspect the councilperson is working with her. He was just too chatty about your boss in that article. You know, his father was a judge and was the one that sentenced him to jail. And that piece of shit only did it because rumor has it your boss slept with Ernest’s mother.”
“Do you believe that’s true, Aunt Rose?” she questioned, valuing the older woman’s opinion.
“If it is, at the time, he would have just been around seventeen to eighteen years old, tried as an adult for stealing from a store because he was hungry and trying to feed himself and his sister, and no one cared about him. His sister ended up going into the system for two years until she aged out and then pushed out on the streets.”
El hardly spoke about his sister, and perhaps she needed to get to the bottom of this.
“Either way,” Aunt Rose continued. “The whole system was unfair to their family along with Russell Wexford dupping his father out of the business.”
This could be precisely why El didn’t speak to her about his. “Why are you helping me so much about this, Aunt Rose?”
“Because I know if he wins, you win. Whether you know this or not, you need him. I know whatever he negotiated with Dwayne was wrong, like two left shoes, but aside from that mess, this man sees you’re gold and knows, just like I do, that you’re valuable, and he’d be a fool to let you go.”
Iris blushed, honored that her aunt had thought of her so highly. “Thank you, Aunt Rose, for helping me with this.”
“I’d help you do anything to make you happy and to make up for not helping my sister when I should but couldn’t because of my mental impairments. I’ll do what I can for you, Iris. Understand that. I love you.”
“I love you too, Aunt Rose.” Iris was grateful to have this old woman in her life.
