Celebrate International Women’s Day with inspiring romance reads by women authors … #SylLit top picks: Beverly Jenkins (@authorMsBev) & @TaliaHibbert

first education: Why do we celebrate women’s day?

History of Women’s Day. International Women’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. (via un.org)

Personally for me I believe:

EVERYONE SHOULD CELEBRATE WOMEN’S DAY
First human inequality that ever took place that is still fought to this day

Women have a right to freedom
Women have a right to be paid the same amount if they do the same work
Women have a right to Choose

Hug that woman in your life who is close to you
and if you are a woman hug yourself.

And in that regard, let’s celebrate this day by reading two awesome romance novels by two authors I greatly admire

First there’s Beverly Jenkins, my shero of all. She’s refreshing wonderful and a pillar in the romance community. She’s the first black author I met and knew I could be what I wanted to be. Thank you for all you have done and currently do. Excitedly waiting for more to come! Love you Ms. Bev.

Get a Life, Chloe Brown: A Novel (The Brown Sisters Book 1) by [Talia Hibbert]

Maybe cause I write about BBW and I just connected immefiately to the unashamed cover, but I’ve fallen in love over and over again with Ms. Talia Hibbert. Just chuckling romantic good time when you turn the pages.

So check out this book along with all her others! You will not be disappointed.
