I’m like a new parent with a baby. #Beautiful Journey Update #YouShouldBeReading #suspense #adventure #asmsg

As an author no matter how many books you release, you’re giving birth to your work to the world.

Nervous expectation sets in upon your release dates as you refresh and refresh and refresh the screen. Watching the sales, the sales rank, and your reviews. Waiting … waiting… waiting… a lot of waiting.

Your F5 key doesn’t even click anymore and starts to wear down, but you don’t care.

You just keep hitting the refresh button.

Over and over again.

You don’t want to do anything else but to see numbers on the day your book is released.

You start thinking, this is the one. The one I will retire on. Or maybe I should stop over obsessing and finish writing the other one and then write another one.

Especially if you love to write.

You start to get mad because you could be writing instead of hitting that F5 key.

But then you hit the F5 key yet again.

Same amount… on no, this rank went down… another book sold.

How long does it take to read 300 pages?

It took 3 months to write that sucker, but a good reader will probably finish it in 3 days. Maybe less than that if it’s really good.

Hitting that key again. No results on the reviews. Ugh…

Screaming in my head at the screen! What do you think?!! I must know what do you think of the baby… I mean, book.

Sigh… reviews will come soon.

Stop me over obsessing so I can write, please.

  1. I love it, I read it in one night. I just couldn’t put it down. I love the lead character and how headstrong she is and even after everything that she has been through she still persevered. Great book.

PS. I love the way you always incorporate the Heart family in your stories.
