Dark Facade – Part 18

I was wondering when someone would say something negative. I thought in the beginning this was a crazy stupid idea and that someone would just say Sylvia, have you lost your mind.I knew going into this, someone would say why are these chicks putting up with this shit. And i asked myself the same questions too. They’re all going to come back, next week, but why? Nicole does explain in further chapters, when Maxine wants out, the mentality of it all. And i think the dancer in the room explained it a little too in part 18. You’re black, on aid or working from paycheck to paycheck. The opportunity to be lavished upon, revered and partly worship for two days out the week with money and materials is a prominent offer. Some will put up with the “crap” in order to receive rewards, because what else is there in their lives short of selling themselves or receiving punishment from men that are suppose to care for them. One person I told the story to said it was wrong to write something like this, but in truth it really made a lot of sense and its almost scary that something like this could actually exist. She said, “If you’re gonna treat me like shit, at least pay me for it. At least I know you’re going to treat me like shit some time and I don’t have to wait for some man to come stomp on my heart to know I have to pay for the stuff with an ass whooping.”So that’s why they stay. That’s the reward they feel they get for enduring this. Some of the masters are nice, some of them aren’t, but all of them give something in order to be apart of all of this.
I would also like to add that if the age of when my heroine lost her virginity is the only continuity flaw that you’ve found that bothers you, I think I should pat myself on the back because for a first draft that you’re reading – no real editing has been done – I think that’s pretty darn good! I don’t know if most readers know that what you’re reading is coming straight from my head and onto paper. That means yu’re reading something that I go home every night and make up while I’m cooking for the kids, cleaning up my house, working on my other literary endeavors, trying to find a personal life, trying to sell a book, doing my other blog and getting at least four hours of sleep a night. With all the compliments I was getting, I think that this one mistake out of all the other mistakes i could have made can be easily corrected.

  1. It seems that u have made Philipe a slave to his father bidding – Maxine is gonna get what she is asking, for disobeying an order & how stupid can she be I thought she was intelligent, didn’t she have it in her head that even the rich & famous wd have all kinds of ‘see all’ in that place she is in now – but Philipe – after making all that money for his pa, he still gets to say “yes sir” – can’t wait 2 read about what he is gonna doNothing much was mentioned about Philipe except that he was rich etc & that his pa probably owns the DM – what about a dark secret that no one but his handler, perhaps, knows about.I hate it when one gets 2 some part of the story & u find out that pa is the one that “hec” is “afraid” of – it’s what makes the person a hard core in the end & end up being like the papa.Well, just shows that is not only the lower class that has to conform to society.

  2. How many more will you post, or is this it until the story is published? I feel sorry for both Maxine and Phillipe, because obviously Devon is going to finally have his way with her, which is going to really hurt Phillipe. I think he cares for her, despite the setting they’re in.

  3. I read the two negative comments you received, and I have one thing to say: It’s called FICTION ladies! I can honestly say some of the scenes are hard to take, but I have never read anything like this before. Your stories are always captivating and keeps me coming back for more. I believe it is your edge that allows you to stand out from all of the other authors that I read. Keep doing your thing!

  4. Okay ladies I have been silent up until now! You who can’t understand or find fault in what Ms. Sylvia is writing don’t read it. And you Ms. Sylvia remember you are a very good writer and you are talented keep your head up and keep on writing especially this story (which angry ladies is FICTION duh). I happen to love the story and each time Ms. Sylvia keeps me hanging I sit back and idley wait for more of Dark Facade. Don’t get me wrong when I first started to read it it threw me a little off guard but once I put myself into Maxine’s place and then I read the background on Philipe I have fell into the story and I can’t wait until the book is released. Now Ms. Sylvia can’t you just tease us just a little more with one more excerpt I promise I won’t ask for another one until the story comes out in book form (scout’s honor)
