It’s coming… Let the Feast begin w/DARK FACADE: Book 1

If you are an older fan, you remember the live story called Dark Facade. I had so many people ask me about the book after it was incomplete, I thought for sure it might get picked up.

But at last, the book just stayed on the shelf where it sat and I decided after going through Wicked Chances and the Mysterious Mr. Black, I had to get in there and get this one out.

Now if you didn’t read the initial book, I guess you’re dying to know about the mask. (It’s in the book).

The Set up:

Maxine, an AA graphic designer who has no life, realizing that her best friend and coworker disappeared the day after telling Maxine she was going out on a hot date with a man she met on the Internet.
Now it’s up to Maxine to find out what happened to Lisa and who was this mysterious man who emailed his picture to her friend that Maxine just can’t stop thinking about.

How You Can Get your copy:

It will be available on Smashwords, an eventually through other chains in two books. (Unfortunately, since Amazon doesn’t load Smashwords book, Kindle readers will have to upload their copy as a mobi file and then open it in your documents.)

The first book is the introduction of the protagonists and of course The Masquerade.

The second book will go deeper in the “rabbit hole” and try to fix what was torn asunder in book one between Maxine and “her master.”

The problem with the book

1) Controversy:

I originally never really wanted to push this book due to the “violent” nature of what takes place. Not only around Maxine inside “the club,” but also to Maxine. I was severely criticized at how the set up wasn’t “real” and NO WOMAN would EVER put up with the way the women were treated in this book.

My opinion of that… I must disagreed. I’ve found as I study human nature more and more, it’s not just greed that drives up to put up with things. It’s loneliness, poverty and love, as well. In this story, all three take place. You’d be surprise of the depths that people will endure with all four circumstances are on the table. Even you, who is currently reading this, have dark secrets in closets you know you have thrown away the key. Now just imagine someone found that key (like me, for instance) and decided to open it up. Well, the premise of this story opens up Pandora’s box of lust, sex, murder and even … (pause for effect) slavery.

Yeah, I know I’m jumping in hot water and you guys are gonna probably never speak to me again, but hey, after the flack I got for raping a man (Stealing Innocence), a student seducing a teacher (Teach Me To Love) and even, a psychopath getting true revenge (Stone’s Reveng), I think I can stand up to a little upset over what I address in Dark Facade.

2. I’m going to go at this alone and see what happens. This is the first time I’ve taken a book and broken it up into a serial. I know this sounds crazy, but I think I can do this. I’m nervous about the journey and I’m interested in what My readers will think of the process. Really it’s just my live story with a twist. I’ll release a book every ten days starting in January with at least 35-40K words.

(Please let me know if that’s reasonable.)

In return and to make sure you get that next book, I need reviews. If you like it, I need to know (and I’d love for you to tell readers). If you don’t: keep it to your self… just kidding. I’d love to know that as well.

Cover coming soon! But for now here’s the temporary cover

DARKFACADE-SMALL
And yes, it will be an interracial… along with exotic, erotic and contemporary.

Will there be a Heart?
Yes, Most Definitely!

Will there be any other characters from any other stories:
I believe there’s Kenneth Bianchi mentioned briefly in The Other Side of Love. Maxine works at his firm.

I’m going to take some pictures of the building (you have to read the book to know what I’m talking about to share with my readers. I found a perfect location! I’m so looking forward to hearing your comments as we dash along the highway of love one more time and thank you all for sticking around!

    1. the only book that could possibly prepare you for DARK FACADE would be Babydoll.

this is a standalone book where the concept is from very far left field – or in my brain, just right. LOL

  2. I am excited about this. I have come to love the craziness of your characters & issues that you speak of that are Taboo for many to even mention. Im sure you will do well with the series especially since I view most of your books as such because they include many previous characters that were seen in another book (I love that). I am certain I will enjoy this series as well. Kenneth Bianchi is mentioned in quite a few of your books so this will be interesting. He’s always present when a trust or legal matter is involved. Either him or a Bellini. I can’t wait to start reading once its available. AND YOU KNOW I WILL SHARE MY THOUGHTS… 😀

    1. kenneth also helps romero bellini run his design firm and he’s actually married to Antonio Belllini’s adopted daughter, Kelsey Bellini Bianchi an artist also.

  3. I am waiting with baited breath. I am excited that you are revisiting some of the characters you’ve allowed us to glimpse Sylvia, like S Dunn, I enjoy the characters, especially their uniqueness in this genre, their flaws and their determination. I say write what you wish – everyone has access to writing material so if they have a problem the know what they can do. To those ‘critics’ with claims regarding the veracity of the stories, drop by a ‘women’s shelter’ sometime and volunteer if you have the stomach for it – the least you will learn is that Sylvia’s characters don’t go into nearly as much detail concerning the breadth of depravity fellow humans experience by choice. I have yet to see any of these women ‘rescued’ by any man let alone a wealthy man; their stories have no HEA more a perpetuation of a cycle which, by the grace of God, many survive. Sylvia keep the HEA alive and write. Happy New year all xx

    1. awww,, Bernie, thank you so much.

I see it all the time. Almost every day in misery of every day life and the missing of HEA.

I think a person should experience all out joyful heart singing love at least once in their life… even the misguided, evil, out of this world characters that are real.

  4. I can’t wait to read this book. The dark side of Stone’s Revenge was interesting. You wrote the book so the reader wanted to know more. January can’t get here fast enough.

      1. I’m new to your fan base but the few books that I have read kept me interested from beginning to end so I’m waiting with baited breath to read this book and all that I have not read already

      2. awww, sheryl! Thanks for being a new reader and I hope to hear what you have to say about them. Plz make sure you leave reviews around the Internet!

      3. OMG. .. I can’t wait to read that. I’d put my money on William, but I won’t dare sleep on the ability of Dalton. He is feared & respected by his family for a reason. I just have to wait to see… Oh My!

      4. Well, the incident has to do with Abigail, so my money is on William personally, but Dalton will look so good getting his ass kick by the son of a serial killer. LOL

      5. Hmmm I would not want to meet William in a dark alley. However I don’t see him getting the upper hand on Dalton either.

      6. I’m late to the convo but this will definitely be interesting. I can’t wait. William is scary but it’s almost as if you just know that there has to be a soft side to all that emotional armor. Maybe it’s just me but I loved William. Him fighting will be very interesting especially with Abigail being involved.

      7. i can’t wait either. I’m working diligently on book three as we speak. I found somethings needed to be reworked and iI’m glad I put the date at jan 20th ecause I had to go add a lot of things in the back story to prepare for the ending.

  5. Ms. Hubbard,

Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I am just checking my e-mails from the holidays. I remember “Dark Facade” and can’t wait to read the rest for it. When I got to the end of the story, I kept looking for the rest of it. I think that it is a great story. Yes, it is different from your other stories, but it delivers the same twist and turn as the others. It is sure to keep your true readers and fans interested. I know I will be looking for it. I may have to go back and read parts of book one to keep me on y toes. I have it downloaded in my collection. Keep us posted on when the books are coming out. I for one am looking forward to the finished copies.

    Your loyal fan,
    Stephanie

      1. Hi Ms. Sylvia,

In the copy I have, the story ends with Phillipe being told by Devon that Maxine may be pregnant. Phiillipe then ask Maxine about birth control, and she tell him about her history. They have a passionate love session, and he decides that he wants her in his life forever.

  6. I’m glad that helped you out. I can hardly wait for the finished product. I feel myself needing a Ms. Hubbard fix right now. I am sure like all of your other novels, this one will be a knock-out one too. There are so many good novels that you could be writing now, but I’ll take them as they come. To bad you only have two hands and one brain, because if you had four hands and two brains, you could write twice as many novels(just kidding).

    Your loyal fan,
    Stephanie

  7. I have to say I am very intrigued and can’t wait to follow this story. I must say I am a big fan and never would have thought I would be so intrigued about some of the topics you touch on but I’ll be damned, I’m in love with the different things that pop off. I have read all of your books, (live, free, for sale, short stories…etc.) but this one i don’t recall, it may have been before my time of catching on to your books. Anyway I’m down for the dark tale… Also I mentioned you in one of my blogs, just a little fyi.

  8. Ms. Hubbard I love your books!! i have read books 1-3 of the dark facade series and it was awsome!! unlike anything i have ever read before and i love every minute of it!

When will book 4 be available I cannot wait to see what happens next!!!!!!! so excited!
