Chapter 14.2

Kenneth Bianchi looked like a skinny younger version of Bill Gates, complete with the thick bifocals and the mop hair cut. He looked about thirty years old and he looked at her with the most piercing eyes as if no matter what she said she was saying or doing something wrong. Just topping six feet, Kenneth often pushed his glasses up that constantly slid down his nose.

Jona had finished the tour and ended by taking Elena to her new office. Pholsom was in there with Kenneth and after being introduced, Pholsom said, “Kenneth is my business lawyer and Armando’s law partner. They’ve just relocated to Detroit.”

“And Ms. Holland was chosen out of all the applicants?” Kenneth asked as if Pholsom had lost his mind. “Did you even look at the applicants I chose?”

“Kenneth, let’s just get this over with,” Pholsom said tightly.

Kenneth gave her that look again and took out some papers for her to sign. After going thoroughly over her job agreement, she signed on the dotted line.

“Just to confirm,” she said before signing. “I start in one month exactly.”

“Yes,” Pholsom responded. “This should give you more than a three week notice at the hospital and a week to get your affairs in order for the new position.”

She knew he was being more than generous. The pay for the job would be generous enough to help her finish the construction on her home without dipping into her savings and give her a nice lifestyle she had longed for. The job was above and beyond her degree and once she had everything up to code, it would be almost too easy for her to manage. This was what she had dreamed about and Pholsom was making this possible for her. Her heart sung in happiness.

“We should point out there is a probationary period,” Kenneth said and explained in detail.

“Why a year?” she questioned Pholsom when Kenneth was done with the detailed explanation.

“Pretty much for you and I. Getting the facility up to code will be team effort between the two of us and you may become displeased with my work ethic,” he said simply. “I don’t want you to be where you don’t want to be, Elena, especially when it concerns your working situation.”

“You didn’t need a probation period,” she said with a wink.

“Can we proceed with business?” Kenneth snipped.

“You’ll have to excuse my lawyer. He’s never happy,” Pholsom apologized.

When the papers were signed and Kenneth was gone, Pholsom started for her, but then stopped.

“I’ll respect our workplace, but if I seem a little irritable when I’m here, you’ll have to excuse the fact that I just want you and haven’t adjusted how to not stop wanting you.” Pholsom said conflicted.

She smiled and moved to him just close enough so their bodies were inches away but not touching. Reaching up, she ran a finger down his lapel loving the feel of the expensive cloth and loving the proximity. “Well, we could forgo dinner and go straight back to your place.”

“Aren’t you hungry?” he asked surprised by her wantonness.

“Yes,” she said with a wicked smile on her face. “For you.”

That was pretty much all it took to arouse him and he grabbed her around the waist with one arm, knocked everything off of the desk with the other. Their lips fused into just one and soon she didn’t know where her body ended and his began. Though he was gentle, he took her like a real man and there was no doubt in her mind she aroused his passion beyond belief.

Protection was clearly out of the window and she pretty much was mindless to even thinking about anything other than the tremendous happiness he made her feel.

Feeling him deep inside of her orgasming with the tremors of her body in sync, she wanted… no needed him in her life more than ever.

Instead of going to a restaurant, he called Gaston’s and had food delivered to his condo. The van was arriving just as they were pulling into the driveway.

“Stay here,” he ordered when they walked in the kitchen. “Don’t go anywhere.”

She waited for him to return, but listened. First, she thought he’d gone up the stairs, but then she heard the front door open.

A few minutes later he was returning with large paper restaurant bags. The food was delicious and when her stomach was full, she was ready to cuddle. He seemed to read her mind and took her hand leading her up the stairs to his room.

They took a shower together and he had an extra toothbrush for her to use. He went into the bedroom and she heard him open a dresser by the bed. When she was done brushing her teeth, she joined him. Just before walking in, she thought she saw he was holding something strange, but he put what he had in his hand quickly in the bedside drawer.

As they laid down together, she thought this was the perfect time to ask him, “Pholsom, was it you I kissed at the top of the stairs when I broke into your uncle’s home when he lived by my house a long time ago.”

“No,” he said without hesitating.

She wanted to ask more, but her energy level was next to nothing and she decided when she awoke again, she would definitely ask him more questions about that day a long time ago.

Because if it wasn’t him, could it have been Phoenix?

  1. Hey Sylvia, Is Phoenix the one who kissed her at the top of the stairs? Are they really twins? At this point I don’t think she really cares. The plot thickens.
