Literary convention returns to Sarnia

This weekend’s GenreCon promises a little insight for everyone interested in mystery, science fiction, horror or romance novels.

The seventh annual literary convention in Sarnia is hosted by Lambton’s cultural services division at the downtown library.

“It’s not just for writers. It’s for anyone who likes to read books,” says organizer Ellen Dark.

Seven authors specializing in various writing genres will be in attendance, all having been a part of the event in previous years.

Guest authors include mystery writer Vicki Delany from the Toronto area; Jean Rae Baxter whose young adult mystery “The Way Lies North” is up for an award; U.S. authors Sylvia Hubbard and Dennis Collins; horror writer Gord Rollo; Doug Smith of fantasy and science fiction fame; and author and reviewer Jeff DeLuzio who teaches creative writing in London.

Participants are invited to attend the panel discussions, films and presentations offered Saturday.
